Composition: Asparaginase

Mechanism of Action:

Asparagine is hydrolyzed by pegaspargase to produce ammonia and aspartic acid. For cancer cells, asparagine is a necessary amino acid, particularly in some types of cancer like ALL. Pegaspargase efficiently starves the cancer cells, preventing their development and multiplication by lowering the blood levels of asparagine.
