Composition: Imatinib mesylate

Mechanism of Action:

Selective tyrosine kinases, such as c-KIT and BCR-ABL (the fusion protein generated in CML) are inhibited by imatinib mesylate. Imatinib inhibits these kinases, which interferes with the signaling pathways that cause cell division and growth, reducing or preventing the formation of cancerous cells.
