Composition: Hydroxyurea

Mechanism of Action:

The enzyme ribonucleotide reductase, which is necessary for DNA synthesis, is inhibited by hydroxyurea. Cells that divide quickly, such cancer cells and some bone marrow cells, are affected by this inhibition, which causes cell cycle arrest, especially in the S phase.
