Xavitaz 2.5gm Injection contains Ceftazidime, Avibactam, is an antibiotic injection is used to treat serious bacterial infections of the stomach, urinary system and lungs. It can be used to treat a variety of illnesses in both adults and children, either by itself or in combination with other antibiotics like metronidazole.

Composition: Ceftazidime, Avibactam

Mechanism of Action:

Ceftazidime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that causes cell lysis and death by preventing the formation of bacterial cell walls. Avibactam is an non-beta-lactam beta-lactamase inhibitor that increases ceftazidime's effectiveness against infections that manufacture beta-lactamases by shielding it from being broken down by specific enzymes made by resistant bacteria.

Uses:

         Urinary tract infections

         Intra-abdominal infections

  Hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia.
