Posid 50mg Capsule contains Etoposide, a chemotherapeutic agent primarily used in the treatment of various cancers. It works very well against lung cancer, testicular cancer, and some types of leukemia.

Mechanism of Action:

Inhibiting topoisomerase II, an enzyme necessary for DNA replication, is how etoposide functions. It stops DNA strands from re-ligating after they have been cut, which causes DNA breaks and eventually causes cancer cells to undergo apoptosis (programmed cell death) by stabilizing the topoisomerase II-DNA complex.
