Mozifor 24mg Injection contains Plerixafor, a hematopoietic stem cell mobilizer. In patients with specific malignancies, it is used to increase the release of bone marrow stem cells into the bloodstream for collection and transplantation.
Brand Name: Mozifor
Composition: Plerixafor
Mechanism of Action:
A CXCR4 receptor antagonist called plerixafor interferes with the way that bone marrow stem cells' CXCR4 receptor and stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1) interact. Hematopoietic stem cells are released into the peripheral circulation by inhibiting this connection, allowing for their collection for use in stem cell transplantation. By increasing the availability of stem cells, this process makes it easier to harvest them and increases the success rate of transplantation treatments.
