Duovir N Tablet is a fixed-dose combination antiretroviral medication used in the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection. It has strong antiviral effects by combining two nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), Lamivudine and Zidovudine, with a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI), Nevirapine.

Mechanism of Action:

Nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), such as zidovudine and lamivudine, function by inhibiting HIV reverse transcriptase through nucleoside analogs. During replication, they are integrated into the viral DNA chain, resulting in the chain's early termination. By directly binding to reverse transcriptase and blocking its RNA- and DNA-dependent polymerase activities, the non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) nevirapine efficiently stops the virus from replicating.
