     Abiratas 500mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medication containing Abiraterone acetate, primarily used to treat metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It belongs to the class of drugs called androgen biosynthesis inhibitors, which work by blocking the production of androgens (male hormones like testosterone) that fuel the growth of prostate cancer cells.

     Since many drugs can interact, let your doctor know if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, liver problems, renal problems, or are receiving treatment for an infection. During treatment, it is recommended to use effective contraception, and frequent blood glucose checks may be required.

Mechanism of Action:

It inhibits the CYP17A1 enzyme, which is crucial for androgen (testosterone) production in the adrenal glands, testes, and prostate tumor tissues. This is particularly effective in treating metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC).
